  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Crumble corn bread and place on baking sheet. Toast for 10 minutes.
  3. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.
  4. Cook sausage, celery and onion in a large skillet oven medium-high heat about 10 minutes or until sausage is cooked and the onions are translucent.
  5. Using a slotted spoon, remove meat and veggies and add to a large mixing bowl.
  6. Add cornbread, seasonings, broth, egg and pecans. Mix together.
  7. Grease a 2 quart baking dish with butter. Add stuffing and cover with foil.
  8. Bake 35 minutes. Uncover and bake 10-15 minutes more, until heated thoroughly.
Recipe Notes
  • I usually make homemade cornbread for this stuffing. I most often use a simple recipe from Betty Crocker.
  • Alternatively, during the holidays you can find corn bread in the bakery. An alternate to the sage, thyme, rosemary and nutmeg is poultry seasoning. Use 1 teaspoon.
